  22. There is an alternative to blue screens with loads of lighting, if you 
  23. want to do it on the cheap and add an extra feature.

  25. If you are using (I hope) CCD cameras, just mount a 
  26. front-screen-projection system to the camera. Not only does this allow 
  27. you to serve up the evenly lit blue you need, you can also just project 
  28. film backdrops for composites that leave no  detectable borders around 
  29. the main subjects. I used the system quite a bit and it does a beautiful 
  30. job.

  37. An interesting idea.  Something new I ran into is in Premiere:  it is called
  38. a difference key.  What it is is: You take a still plate of ANY background.
  39. Save it.  Now go ahead and film your talent walking in front of your BG.

  41. When you combine the two, everything that is the SAME gets keyed out, and only
  42. the difference remains.  In this case, your talent.

  44. If no shadows are falling on your bg, I don't see why this couldn't be used in
  45. many/most blue screen situations, and it is a LOT easier than trying to get the
  46. freakin' back wall evenly lit, PLUS you don't have to worry about any 1/4CTO
  47. bullshit.

  49. Thoughts?  (Premiere is worth it's cost for this feature alone, IMNSHO, and
  50. when After Effects ships for the PC, watch out!)
